She was named as one of the chefs to watch in 2018, Sam's journey began with hosting brunches in her home and today she's teaching classes at the University of Kentucky, hosting pop-ups everywhere and cooking with celebrity chefs. "If I can make people understand the roots of where I'm from, that means the flavors I grew up with and love will have a chance to be out in the world," Sam says. "Cooking makes me happy and brings other people joy. These are the flavors I grew up with at home, and food from home is what resonates with people. Southern and Sri Lankan food are not the same animal, but they have a common thread of hospitality." This show will make you hungry, so make sure you have snacks nearby!
